At a recent Retail Hive Live, we asked our members to share with us their business priorities in 2018.
Unsurprisingly the top 5 priority areas are clearly focused on ensuring businesses can keep up with the changing digital landscape of retail and the customer’s ever increasing demands, with 19% of our members rating Digital Transformation as their number one priority.
However perhaps more surprising, and worrying, is that security and staff rank as the lowest priorities. Only 3% of our members ranked Staff Skills as being a business priority with even in-store experience only being a priority for 6% of our members.
So whilst creating a seamless customer journey and breaking down on line and off line barriers is often talked about as being the ‘holy grail’ for retail, perhaps one should start with making the basics a priority first?
