The Finance Hive Live: Asia Global FX, Singapore

5 September, 2018

After the huge success of our 2017 meeting, The Finance Hive returns to Singapore for our second Global FX Steering Meeting at the Conrad Centennial.

“Excellent opportunity to have genuine discussions with buyside peers about challenges and opportunities in the FX market”- Marco Stanojevic, Dax Partners

This meeting will bring together the largest buy side firms based on Asset Under Management such as, Monetary Authority of Singapore, BlackRock, Eaton Vance, IFM Investors, Invesco, Rhicon Currency Management, T.Rowe Price, Temasek. UBS Wealth Management, Pictet Asset Management, Schroders and many more.

Right now is a turning point for FX markets all over the world. A wave of regulation has swept the market prompting changing demands for transparency, liquidity and technology. Market structure continues to evolve and traditional roles of “buy side” and “broker” are evolving too. A plethora of platforms, a lack of liquidity, global volatility and regulatory pressures mean buy side need to be agile and respond to these seismic shifts in the right way for their desk. Technology and partners all have a role, and collaborating with other buy side will help too.

This is where the Finance Hive comes in! The Finance Hive is a private network that brings together leaders from the buy side to discuss current challenges, future trends and the impact of regulation, market structure changes, liquidity issues and technology on the FX market. The objective of September’s meeting in Singapore is to facilitate dialogue and exchange within the buy side in the Asia-Pac region. Topics up for discussion include:

  1. Market structure developments
  2. Platform Innovation
  3. Types of Liquidity & Access
  4. Transparency & Best Execution
  5. FX Flows from the West
  6. Russia & China
  7. Macro FX Strategies
  8. Outlook on the Dollar
  9. EMFX Destinations
  10. FX as an Asset Class
  11. Buy Side-to-Buy Side Trading
  12. Spotlight on FX in Corporate Treasury

Chatham House Rule applies at all times and active input will be required from all participants as we shape responses to pressures on the buy side desk. The audience selection and the interactive format of the day create a secure and open environment for peer-to-peer exchange and genuine sharing of genuine insight. Participants will be grouped around discussion topics they themselves have suggested.  We encourage collaboration, benchmarking and problem solving, so the whole market moves forward together.

Discussion is facilitated for Global Heads of Trading / Execution, Heads of Multi-Asset Trading, Senior FX and Fixed Income Traders, CEOs and Managing Directors from long-only asset management companies, hedge funds, currency managers, corporate treasurers, systematic traders and regional banks.
