Retail delivery has really been put into the spotlight over the past 12 months. Delivery drivers were identified as key workers, keeping households in essential goods as lockdowns meant people could not physically go shopping. Unexpected peaks in demand for certain verticals, as well as a wholesale shift from store to online has put unexpected pressure on supply chains, inventory, demand forecasting and delivery.
Solution providers are pivoting applications of their technologies to support retailers as they had to very swiftly adapt to the changing behaviours and needs of their customers. The global pandemic will change the world forever. But what will this mean for retail? Are there longer term scenarios that you are basing your planning on? What do other people think the retail landscape will look like as the world moves out of lockdown?
